Today we are reviewing the most popular and latest camera from Canon. This has many similarities to the its predecessor Mark II and also the Nikon D800. Canon has made many changes to this upgrade and thus it is so much in demand in the market now. It delivers the best quality images and videos. Let us look at its construction and performance in detail.

Mark III upgrade Specifications

Canon has made many changes with this upgrade. It guarantees the best image quality with a best build. Canon has done everything to make this version the best overall. It has 5D new sensor build in 36×24mm chip. It is having 22.3 million effective pixels. This combination matches the regular frame of 35mm film.

Canon has everything upgraded Infact, every part of it is upgraded. It has an upgraded processor of Digic 5 which is 17 times faster than its predecessor camera. It is much similar to Mark II in look but as it is the upgrade it has many changes. It measures 152×116×76mm, this dimension has a very slight difference than Mark II. It has full-frame sensor with 100-25600 ISO sensitivity.

It shots 1080p videos at 24, 25,26 or 30 frames per second and 720p at 60 frames per second. It also has a larger monitor of 3.2 × 3 inches. It has a viewfinder with 100% coverage, 3.2 inch screen with 1040k resolution, it has a new three-frame HDR mode, Its build is very slightly improved and its control layout is also a bit adjusted.

Handling Specifications

It has a better handling than its predecessor mark II. It has 2 card slots- one for compact flash and the other for SD. It has a microphone slot and a headphone slot. You can use different image formats for your images. Its buttons are very soft but smooth also. They work very well. In terms of handling purpose it has very close similarity to Nikon D800.

It has a very amazing thumb rest which gives a very good effect on photography. However, it does not have built-in wireless capability. So, you should not expect any kind of GPS or Wifi support from it. Its control wheel is slightly damped so that it does not make unnecessary clicks here and there. It has a 24-105mm lens and is very well balanced.

Photos and Videos

Now let us talk about the quality of photos and videos that the 5D produces. It shots very well in all kind of situations. It delivers the same quality of images under hard sun, overcast skies and in other situations too. Its color, tones and shades look extremely realistic and original.

You can go through the very fine details of the images. You can zoom 100% and can capture very minute details in your pictures. It can differentiate between even very subtle change in tone. It has an in-built HDR and so you get the excellent quality of images.

It also gives excellent video performance besides the images. Its sound quality along with the video is very good. It is absolutely natural and without any noise. It has a very clear audio quality.  In fact, it has a wind noise reduction option too. Here is a dedicated silent control setting fro shooting movies and such high quality videos.

You can also switch off the sound altogether. As we have told you earlier about the videos shooting speed which is so amazing. We have seen so many picture tests and it gives a very nice footage. You can also set the contrast and light levels to appropriate levels.

Overall this camera is one of the best I have seen yet.
