HTC has announced to launch two Windows Phone 8 namely HTC Windows 8S and HTC Windows Phone 8X.

Talking about HTC Windows Phone 8S, The smart phone is available at affordable price. Having competition with Nokia Lumia 820, the phone is having funky design and coming in many colorful variants.The phone is having a medium smart phone length and is light weighted also with a weight of just 113 g.

It is having a powerful 1 GHz processor, with a RAM support of 512 MB, the phone is running on Windows Phone 8. It is having 4-inch WVGA screen and camera is of 5 megapixels which records videos in HD format.

Stylish Design and Powerful Display

HTC Windows Phone 8S is having a mid phone dimension of 120.5 x 63 x 10.28 mm. The phone is having weight of just 113 g. The smartphone looks very similar to Nokia Lumia Series Smartphones.

The phone is having a long 4-inch display facilitating a screen resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The screen is S-LCD with quite high pixels density of 233 ppi. It is full capacitive and having multi-touch feature. HTC Windows Phone 8S is having a 1 GHz dual core processor with Krait CPU. It is having a 512 MB of RAM which is further enhancing the phone’s performance. With Adreno 305 Graphic processor and Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8627 chipset the smartphone is providing very good graphic support and gaming experience.

Camera and Recording

The phone is featured with a 5 megapixels camera with LED flash light. The camera is having an aperture size of F2.8 cm. It offers features like Auto focus, Geo Tagging etc. The phone lacks in front facing camera.

The videos are recorded at 1280 x 720 pixels whch are 720p HD videos.

Network and Connectivity

HTC Windows Phone 8S is a dual SIM phone which supports CDMA and GSM networks. For making phone calls it uses CDMA, GSM, UMTS networks.  For internet connectivity and data usage, it uses GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, EV-DO Rev.A, HSUPA and HSDPA + (4G) networks.

It is having GPS, A-GPS as well as Glonass positioning which supports Turn-by-turn navigation system.

For Internet Browsing, Internet Explorer 10 is available which supports HTML, HTML5 format. Other Windows Apps available for network usage are Facebook Messenger, YouTube (upload) App, Google Picasa and Twitter Social Networking App.

HTC Windows Phone 8S offers Bluetooth connectivity through Bluetooth v2.1 with EDR, WiFi of 802.11 b/g/n and USB devices like Mass storage device, USB Charger are connected through USB 2.0 microUSB port.

The smart phone also offers Computer sync and OTA sync.

Other Features and Utility

The smartphone is having messaging service of SMS, MMS, Threaded view and Predictive text input. It is having email support for IMAP, POP3, SMTP and Microsoft Exchange. Phonebook is having unlimited entries capacity with other features like Caller Groups, Multiple numbers per contact, Search by both first and last name, Picture ID, Ring ID etc.

Pricing and Availability

HTC Windows Phone 8S is introduced yesterday but there is no information about the price. It is expected that the mid range smartphone’s price would be closer to HTC One V.
